Mill Studio Arts Piggy Bank Contest Workshop

This April, Financial Literacy Month, Saco & Biddeford Savings will be hosting a FREE Piggy Bank Beauty Contest with Mill Studio Arts in Biddeford!

Date: Friday April 19
Time: 10AM - Noon
Where: Mill Studio Arts, 2 Main St. building 18, suite 104, Biddeford, Maine 04005

Mills Studio Arts will have all the supplies you need, so bring your creativity and have some fun!

Categories include: funniest, prettiest, and most creative.

$100 contribution for a Youth Savings Account at SBSI will be given to the winner of each category!

Completed piggy banks will be on display in the branches and winners will be announced on Friday, May 3rd!

Proof of residency (such as a driver's license or tax bill) is required.
No commercial waste or unknown materials.

Free Drive-thru Shredding Event - Saco Branch

Community members and businesses are encouraged to bring up to two boxes of documents (cancelled checks, old bills and invoices, medical records, etc.) for safe and confidential shredding. Shredding will be provided by Shredding on Site® Mobile Shredding. Staff will assist with disposing shredding materials.  

Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Saco Food Pantry.

          What: Free Drive-thru Shredding Event 

          When: Saturday, May 25th, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to noon, or until the truck is full.

          Where: Saco & Biddeford Savings, 252 Main Street, Saco, ME 04072

          Who: Open to the public. All community members are invited to attend.

          Highlights: Free, safe, and confidential shredding for up to two boxes of documents (per household).

Saco Main Street Arts Festival

The 53rd Annual Arts Festival located in the heart of beautiful downtown Saco is on June 22nd. Main Street will be closed for the duration of the festival allowing artists and spectators a much more relaxed atmosphere.Thousands attend this annual event where more than 75 artists display a rich variety of artwork, sculpture and photography.

Music in the Park - Main Street’s Music Mondays

What better epitomizes the essence of summer than an authentic Music in the Park gathering? Picture yourself lounging on a blanket, children frolicking on the playground, all the while immersed in the melodies of local musicians.

Through a variety of local artists, the six-night concert series promises diverse musical experiences for all ages. Scheduled weekly from early July through mid-August, this event has garnered significant popularity.

Bring along your lawn chairs and indulge in the delectable offerings from local food vendors. Join the vibrant community that defines Saco as a fantastic hometown. Reconnect with old acquaintances and forge new
friendships. In case of rain, fear not, as the show shifts indoors, thanks to First Parish Congregational Church.

Saco Car Show

Rev up your engines and step back in time at the Saco Car Show, celebrating its 15th thrilling year! In partnership with the Thornton Academy Alumni Association, this event is a nostalgic journey through automotive history held on the picturesque Thornton Academy campus.

Mark your calendars for the main event on July 27th, with a rain date set for July 28th.

In 2023, the show witnessed an impressive turnout, boasting over 160 exhibitors and welcoming more than 3,000 eager visitors. Enthusiasts of all ages gathered to admire a vast array of vintage automobiles and trucks, making it a safe, vibrant and family-friendly affair complete with music, delicious food, and exciting vehicle
category winners announced! The winner’s circle was established in 2023. As announced, the winning cars drive into the winner’s circle and showcase their winner’s plaque and prized car.

Pumpkin Harvest Festival

The annual Pumpkin Harvest Festival is scheduled for October 19th from 11AM - 3PM, set against the charming backdrop of our historic downtown. This year, Saco Main Street is thrilled to revive beloved traditions while introducing fresh excitement to the event. Prepare for a return of the enchanting pumpkin patch, brimming with creatively decorated pumpkins, alongside the spirited pie-eating contest right on Main Street. Participants from various city departments, civic groups, area businesses, and school principals will vie for glory in this cherished competition.

Holiday Festival & Parade of Lights

Join Saco Main Street for two festive events, December 6th & December 14th, that capture the spirit of the holiday season in Saco!

On December 6th, witness the magical lighting of our city tree as thousands of twinkling lights illuminate the hill near the Transportation Center.

Then, on December 14th, one of the most cherished annual traditions returns to Main Street! Enjoy a day filled with holiday cheer, including shopping, a live nativity scene, caroling, story time with Mr. and Mrs. Claus and the enchanting Festival of Trees at the Museum.

End the day with The Parade of Lights, featuring floats, city vehicles, civic groups, golf carts, and tractors adorned with festive lights as they march down Main Street.
