Cascade Falls trails is one of the trails we manage through Saco Bay Trails. We are an all-volunteer group governed by a board of trustees, and have made it our mission to create and maintain the trails and promote people in our communities to use them.
It’s one thing to have the trails, but it’s another thing to get people to use the trails. That’s why we chose to host a fairy house building event. Having all the kids dressed up in their fairy outfits, exploring the woods with their families, it just feels so magical. So many people showed up today, and we're so grateful for that.
How can you beat this? Not only is it good for children to be active outdoors, but spending time outside also gives them the ability to express their creative imaginations. It makes them happy, which makes us even happier. Hopefully this event prompted future interest that will make them want to come back or go to other trails.
Saco Bay Trails is always looking for volunteers. We have a work party every month that gets posted on our website. Tasks may include cutting brush, building bridges and boardwalks, raking and smoothing trail beds, painting and staining, bookkeeping and other administrative tasks.
The more hands on deck, the better!

Saco Bay Trails began as a subcommittee of the City of Saco's Conservation Commission and became a nonprofit organization in 1998. They create, maintain and promote the use of walking trails on public and private land in the Saco bay area.
