“I started doing masonry in high school and 20 years later, I have my own business.”
In 2001, Thad Norkus started @AtlanticMasonry. Thad learned from mentors and friends, and now shares his knowledge and skills with a young apprentice who's been learning the trade under Thad’s guidance.
Over the years, Thad has most enjoyed watching the visions of customers and friends come to life saying, “Masonry is like artwork. Every project is different. When a job is finished and you take a step back to admire the work, it’s pretty spectacular. The most rewarding part, however, is going back to a jobsite 5, 10 or even 20 years later and seeing your work still holding strong. In those instances, there’s a sense of pride and accomplishment that’s hard to describe.”
Described by family and friends as hardworking, dedicated, and honest, Thad plans to continue his work as a mason as long as he can.
