I started working at the Beach Lobster & Farmstand in Old Orchard Beach when I was 15 years old. I became the owner after David Marshall passed away. He built this business from scratch starting with fruit and vegetables, and later added plants and lobsters. He was very proud of this place and I’m proud to continue his legacy.
One of my favorite parts about this job is being able to regularly interact with people. From our customers, to our fisherman, to the farmers we work with. I get to meet a lot of new people every single day and I love that.
During the pandemic, we had minimal staffing and business slowed a bit. Like many other businesses had to do, we learned to adapt and overcome many of the challenges during that time, and we’re lucky to have kept such a great team through the years.
Despite the difficulties we faced, we’ve continued to receive strong local support. It just goes to show how important it really is to help your local community and businesses. It’s all about supporting each other through the good and hard times.
