Intimate. Personalized. Different.
In the Kennebunks, they Paint the Town Red for romance and love all February long. Shops, restaurants and local landmarks are festively decorated in red lights to get you in the mood for loving the Kennebunks!
Kennebunk-Kennebunkport-Arundel Chamber membership and tourism manager Alaina LeBlanc Tridente described the annual event as less robust than years past, but because of the out of the box thinking from restaurants including fish shacks, gondolas and igloos, the private dining experience for visitors was made much more special. Shops are holding “red tag” sales, and accommodations have created special stay and play packages for those looking to rest, relax, romance and escape reality.
“The goal for us,” Alaina said, “was to have an event that would invigorate spirit and happiness to our area. Paint the Town Red was the last in person event to happen in 2020 and we wanted to bring back the love and hearts in February with specials and fun things to do, in a safe way, to keep the morale up.”
Hospitality and tourism is at the heart of Kennebunk-Kennebunkport-Arundel (KKA), and the events are bringing back some semblance of normalcy. While there may not have been the usual deluge of people, it's something that put the towns on the map, and put a lot of smiles on peoples face under their masks.
