SACO, Maine (January 31, 2023) – Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution (SBSI) welcomed Jim Godbout to its Board of Directors in January 2023.
SBSI’s CEO Bob Quentin stated, “Jim’s business acumen combined with a deep commitment to the community will make him a valued contributor as a member of our Board of Directors.”
Godbout owns and operates Provencher Oil and Jim Godbout Plumbing and Heating in Biddeford, Maine. He’s grown the business from its opening over the last 40 years, and now operates with more than 70 employees.
Godbout is an active member in the community. Much of his volunteerism has been dedicated to improving opportunities for teens and young adults. He carries an unparalleled passion for finding healthy alternatives to prevent drug abuse in young people.
His dedication has helped countless families in need ranging from his involvement with Habitat for Humanity, to mentoring young people through the Regional Center of Technology, Biddeford High School, Thornton Academy and Sweetser Children’s Services. In addition, Godbout was a strong leader in the redevelopment of Waterhouse Field several years ago.
Godbout shared, “I am so happy to join the team at Saco & Biddeford Savings, which carries the shared values and commitment of caring for our surrounding communities that I have. I’m looking forward to working on the goals of a great mutual savings bank and strengthening all of the people of Maine.”
