This is a big year for The Brunswick, it will be our 20th year and we can’t wait to welcome some normalcy.
When we opened, it was a new business venture for us. I’d come from the trucking industry as a retail manager for MACK trucks. We had frequented the place, but it was a totally different industry for us to own and operate.
I remember being so anxious. We knew it was going to be tough, but I have to recognize how fortunate we were too. We knew a lot of people in the business and we received so much support which helped subside some of the anxiety.
It was difficult the first few years, but year after year we learned. We were able to remodel, rebuild and extend. We’ve seen overwhelming growth. When you look back, it humbles you to see the incredible transformation.
Our success to this day would not be possible without our staff. I can’t stress enough that we are only as good as what they put forward. It’s what brings business in and keeps customers coming back year after year. We lead from the top and set an example, but it resonates throughout the entirety of our staff.
We’ve relied on them to adapt to the changes required to the climate of the last year. It brought on a sense of teamwork like never before. Everyone combined their efforts and there's now an empathy for all positions in the front of house and back of house. Everyone learned to work together and a lot of good came out of a challenging year.
We can’t wait to welcome our customers here and at the Sunset Grill. Our family, immediate, extended and friends who’ve become family, plan to continue these businesses and we don’t plan on leaving. We’re looking forward to the season and everything the future holds for us.
