I first began my career with SBSI as a teller at the South Portland branch. I spent over a year there before an opportunity for a teller position opened up at the Biddeford branch. Since I live closer to this area, the move just made sense for me.
During that time, I took many classes in an effort to further my career and be a valuable asset to my team. I was promoted to Head Teller and later served as an Assistant in the Human Resources department before circling back to the Biddeford branch where I currently work as a Customer Relationship Associate.
I love working with the public and becoming a part of their lives. When people walk in and ask for me by name or know me directly, it makes me feel like I’m making a difference each and every day.
I truly appreciate the management teams that I have had the pleasure to work with, and have deeply enjoyed working alongside my co-workers. One of the things I value most about working for SBSI is the generous amount of time off that we are granted each year.
The fact that our upper management understands and accommodates our lives outside of the bank is such a huge relief. It’s nice to feel valued not just as an employee, but as a human being with a life outside of here. It’s allowed me to find a good balance between work and ‘play’ so to speak.
I have four granddaughters that live far away, so I like to take every opportunity I possibly can to visit with them. Having a great work-life balance allows me to do the things I love such as kayaking, hiking, camping, gardening, cooking, and quilting.
I came to SBSI 15 years ago in search of a job that would make me happy and allow me to uplift and support others in their life journeys. The bank has done exactly that. Today and every day, I’m so grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow, and to be an integral part of people’s lives here at SBSI.
