Please join us in congratulating Bonnie who is celebrating 15 years at SBSI!
“I was working at a local grocer/butcher shop when the Saco Branch Manager came in. We were chatting and she suggested I apply for a teller position. I had no idea just how much that conversation would change my life.
When I was growing up I’d babysit my siblings; I have 6 brothers and 2 sisters so I was busy. I opened my first account at SBSI when I was 9 years old to save my babysitting money. I felt so fortunate when I had the opportunity to join the SBSI family.
The people we work with have and continue to make a lasting impact on me. When you struggle, you receive encouragement and guidance. When you are learning, knowledge and wisdom are shared. When you interact with your co-workers, there’s always an exchange of a warm greeting and smile.
I’m grateful to that Branch Manager who saw something in me all those years ago that I didn’t see in myself. There is an immense sense of pride I carry because at the Bank, you’re part of something: a family of people who genuinely care about you and your success. I’ve formed lasting friendships, met some wonderful people, learned valuable lessons along the way and have grown personally and professionally.
When I’m not working, I spend time volunteering with the Masons and “Widows Sons” group. I enjoy spending quality time with my ten grandchildren who range in age from 2 - 17, relaxing at the beach in the summer months and cruising on the motorcycle with my husband when we go on rides with my son and our friends.”
