“I grew up in Old Orchard Beach, so I was familiar with the branch at the top of the hill. I was intrigued by numbers and statistics; like reading the back of football cards and doing scorecards of baseball games, so I applied at the bank thinking I would enjoy working with numbers.
I worked at the Beach branch for 12 years in various roles. I loved working with Carolyn and Tim. They each taught me a lot, but most of all, they made banking fun. We shared a lot of laughs and I have many fond memories. It was bittersweet when I transitioned to a Branch Manager at our Westbrook Branch. I had two wonderful years there before moving to our Portland offices where I am now.
The thing that makes SBSI so special to me is that it’s not about the bottom line. The Bank has good values and a great history. To be honest, I can’t imagine working anywhere else.
After work, firing up my charcoal grill to cook for friends and family is how I enjoy spending my free time. I’m trying to master the art of BBQ. There is a lot of trial and error, which is why I’ve kept a detailed log of everything that has touched my grill in the last 7 years. I try to break my own records from year to year, including the most hot dogs.”
