“I was working at another bank when an SBSI employee reached out to me to gauge my interest in joining the loan department in Scarborough. I grew up in Saco so I was very familiar with SBSI and knew a lot of the employees. I had previously worked at a small community bank and was craving to get back in a similar type of environment. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
After working in the loan department as an officer for seven years, I took an opportunity in 2008 to become the Bank’s BSA Officer and was lucky to be promoted to that position. Since that promotion, I’ve continued my career in Risk Management and Compliance and now hold the position of Compliance Specialist.
SBSI is special, and as corny as it may sound, is an extension of my family. Nothing proved that more when I had to endure two different rounds of six week radiation treatments to battle salivary cancer in 2006. The Bank and my fellow employees were extremely supportive in helping me get through that tough year.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time on the golf course at Biddeford-Saco Country Club. I owned golf clubs before a baseball glove and I’ve been playing since I was 8 years old. A big part of my free time is spent doing community service. I serve on the board of Mary’s Walk, the Kimball Health Center and the Lucia Kimball Deering Trust. I have also been a member of the Rotary Club of Saco Bay for the past 26 years and have recently volunteered at the COVID vaccination clinic in Sanford.
I am also a craft beer lover and my wife Mary and I enjoy visiting microbreweries whenever we travel.”
