Bob Quentin, former CEO of Saco & Biddeford Savings, selects 11 organizations to receive donations in recognition of his recent retirement.
Quentin, from Saco, graduated from Thornton Academy and Bentley College. He then worked as a CPA at KPMG for nine years. For nearly 35 years, he had various responsibilities at SBSI, including Compliance Officer, Treasurer and CFO. In 2015, he became the bank’s President until becoming President and CEO after Kevin Savage’s retirement in May 2017.
When we asked Quentin why he selected the organizations he did to receive a donation in recognition of his retirement he shared, “There are an awful lot of worthy organizations in our communities. These particular causes were especially dear to me because of personal or family relationships and the critical work that each of these organizations do."
The following 11 organizations will receive a donation: Animal Welfare Society, First Parish Congregational Church Diaper Bank, Hospice of Southern Maine, Maine Behavioral Healthcare, Maine Medical Center, Saco Food Pantry, Saco River Wildlife Center, Seeds of Hope, Southern Maine Healthcare, Thornton Academy Field House and Volunteers of America Northern New England’s Huot House.
His plans for retirement include diving into a good book or magazine, and enjoying athletic events. He has been part of track & field for 50 years and never misses a chance to watch local meets. Forever the optimist, he looks forward to following the Celtics and hopes they perform like he knows they can.
