Delainey and Deanna Curit Walk in Honor Mom at Mary's Walk

Delainey and Deanna Curit stood together at Mary's Walk and Kerrymen 5K wearing matching white sweaters that had a photo of their mother perfectly centered on the front.

Tracy, who was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was eight months pregnant with the pair, passed away just a month after their first birthday.

For Delainey and Deanna, participating in Mary’s Walk means keeping their mother’s tradition alive.

“Our mom always participated in Mary's Walk, and so did her best friend Tammy Desjardins,” said Delainey. At the top of their sweaters was a pin depicting Tammy’s friendly face, a woman they say passed away from breast cancer in February of last year.

“We were always close, and she was like an aunt to us. Tammy was there for our mom when she passed away, so we continue on their tradition by attending this event every year.”
