Maine Maple Sunday Weekend

Maine maple producers will be hosting the 43rd annual Maine Maple Sunday weekend.

Spring is a great time to get out and enjoy the great State of Maine and everything that it has to offer, including Maine Maple Syrup.

Most sugarhouses offer maple syrup samples and demonstrations on how pure Maine maple syrup is made. Many farms offer games, activities, treats, sugarbush tours, music, and so much more.

Maine Maple Sunday is always the fourth Sunday in March although some sugarhouses are offering events for both Saturday and Sunday. Please be sure to read the description of each sugarhouse to know what times they will be open and the activities they offer.

Art in Bloom at Portland Museum of Art

Art in Bloom has become a can’t‑miss event for PMA members, art and floral enthusiasts, and visitors throughout the region.

Featuring floral work by designers, artists, farmers, and florists from across southern Maine, the museum comes alive with fragrant blooms, extravagant displays, and incredible floral installations of all types—each inspired by an artwork from the museum’s collection.

28th Annual Mary's Walk

Mary's Walk began in 1999 as a way to remember and honor Mary Kerry Libby, a much-loved member of the Saco-Biddeford community, who passed away from Burkitt's Lymphoma March 7, 1997. Twenty-seven years later, Mary’s Walk has raised over $4.4 million for cancer support services for the people of Maine.  

Mary's Walk is a major fundraiser for Maine Cancer Foundation, a state-wide organization focusing on prevention, early detection, and access to care for cancer patients and their families.

Date: Sunday, March 29th, 2026
Time: Noon
Route: Mary's Walk will follow Mary's original route as she traveled through the downtown area.

Scarborough Lions Shredding Event

The Scarborough Lions Club is hosting a shredding event. Community members and businesses may bring up to two boxes of documents (cancelled checks, old bills and invoices, medical records, etc.) for safe and confidential shredding. Shredding will be provided by Shredding on Site® Mobile Shredding. The Scarborough Lions Club will assist with disposing shredding materials.  

Details are below:

          What: Scarborough Lions Shredding Event 

          When: Saturday, April 11th, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to noon, or until the truck is full.

          Where: Saco & Biddeford Savings - Scarborough Branch,41 Gorham Rd, Scarborough, ME

          Who: Open to the public. 

          Highlights: Free, safe, and confidential shredding for up to two boxes of documents (per household).

Items acceptable for shredding:
Bank Information and Cancelled Checks
Obsolete Invoices
Outdated Bills
Letters, Envelopes, Ledgers
Mortgage & Loan Information
Any Other Clean Paper
Medical Information

Saco Bark in the Park

Join the pack at 12PM at Saco's favorite event for dog lovers and their four-legged friends!

Bark in the Park is the ultimate celebration of all things canine, drawing hundreds of attendees eager for tail-wagging fun. This paw-some day features a pet-friendly vendor fair, a crowd-pleasing doggy parade, agility demonstrations, a spirited dog costume contest, live music, food trucks, and countless other fur-ocious attractions.

Pumpkin Harvest Festival

The annual Pumpkin Harvest Festival returns on October 24th from 11AM - 3PM, transforming C.K. Burns School into a bustling celebration of all things fall.

This event features cherished traditions and a day full of autumn activities for all ages.

Highlights include the enchanting pumpkin patch, filled with creatively decorated pumpkins, and the lively pie-eating contest, live music, pony rides, carnival area, and over 60 vendors at C.K. Burns School.

This beloved festival celebrates community spirit and the magic of autumn.

Main Street Market Craft Show

4th annual Main Street Market starts at 9AM at the Thornton Academy Linnell Gym, and combines the spirit of community and the joy of local shopping. It’s an opportunity to experience the creativity of local artisans and crafters and get a jump-start on holiday shopping.

This event brings together over 60 talented vendors. From handcrafted jewelry and artisanal home goods to festive decor and and cozy apparel, there’s something for everyone.

Holiday Festival and Parade of Lights

The Holiday Festival & Parade of lights is a festive Saco tradition, blending festive daytime fun with the dazzling parade in the evening.

During the daytime festival, families can enjoy story time with Santa, live carolers on Main Street, winter craft activities, the Festival of Trees at the Saco Museum, and other holiday activities before the Parade of Lights takes center stage. With glowing floats, lively dancers, and holiday displays, Main Street transforms into a winter wonderland.
