In August, Pat Leland is celebrating his 10-year work anniversary here at SBSI. Over the past decade, Patrick has built an impressive career with the bank, growing through multiple departments while remaining committed to learning, teamwork, and personal development.
Pat's journey with SBSI began while he was attending college and pursuing a degree in economics. Interested in seeing the concepts he was learning in the classroom applied in the real world, he felt that working at a bank would be the perfect opportunity.
What started as a way to gain practical experience soon evolved into a long-term career. Throughout his time at SBSI, he has embraced new opportunities, expanded his knowledge, and continued to grow both professionally and personally.
His SBSI career began in 2013 as a seasonal teller serving customers in the Saco and Old Orchard Beach branches while he completed his studies. In 2016, he joined the Biddeford branch as a full-time teller before transitioning later that year to the Deposit Support team.
In 2020, Pat moved into the Accounting team, where he continued to broaden his skillset and organizational knowledge. Most recently, in 2025, he joined the Internal Audit team, where he currently serves today.
When reflecting on what has made his time at SBSI so meaningful, Patrick points to the people. Throughout the years, he has had the opportunity to work alongside colleagues who have taught him valuable lessons both professionally and personally. He appreciates the supportive culture at SBSI and values the opportunities the bank has provided to grow, learn, and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Outside of work, Pat enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife are parents to a young daughter who brings endless joy and excitement to their lives. Whether they're heading out to dinner, running errands, attending community events, or enjoying time outdoors, their daughter is always part of the adventure. This summer, the family has especially enjoyed spending time by the pool and relaxing at camp together.
When he finds time for his own hobbies, Patrick enjoys fishing, particularly bass fishing and trout or salmon fishing. He's also a fan of live music and enjoys attending concerts, as well as following sports, especially football and basketball.
