Extending a Helping Paw 🐾
Graig Morin has been in the transportation business for 21 years. Brown Dog Carriers and Logistics was a dream come true three years ago, as Graig’s goal had always been to own and operate his own company. When he started he only had two trucks, and no customers. He now has a fleet of seven trucks. Once Graig was up and running, he wanted to do his part and give back to his community.
When a local company posted on LinkedIn about donating chairs to hospitals and medical facilities, Graig called the company and offered to haul them for free anywhere in Maine. That effort inspired A Helping Paw. “Brown Dog Carriers is using it’s A Helping Paw initiative as a call to action,” says Graig, “to help deliver essential supplies to Mainers in need.” People have been relying on truck drivers and transportation services for essentials. In an effort to keep shelves stocked and give back to communities and neighbors, Brown Dog is committed to keeping their trucks rolling.
Because he cares so deeply for his community, Graig has teamed with Nadeau's Deli & Variety in Biddeford to provide lunch for those in need. He said, “The Biddeford School Department food staff, bus drivers, aids and volunteers have been working hard to make sure students have food throughout this hard time. We wanted to thank them for all their great work keeping the students fed.” The Maine Veterans Homes and Southern Maine Health Care have also been recipients of Nadeau’s Deli and Brown Dog’s generosity. Graig and his team have also volunteered for the Biddeford Food Pantry.
With this campaign, Brown Dog is hopeful to connect with Maine companies, organizations and individuals to explore opportunities to make a bigger impact together.
