Bonnie Miller Celebrating 40 Years at SBSI

Bonnie Miller is celebrating her 40-year work anniversary at Saco & Biddeford Savings!

Bonnie embarked on her career at SBSI seeking full-time employment with benefits, a significant shift from her previous job at Hannaford (Shop N’ Save), where she worked since graduating high school in 1982.

Before starting her journey with SBSI, Bonnie had worked at Shop N’ Save. The opportunity to work with SBSI occurred when Bonnie’s mother visited SBSI to open a joint checking account and encountered Mattie Hilton, who recommended that Bonnie apply for an open position.

Having graduated with Mattie’s son Rick, Bonnie felt a familiar connection. Shortly after applying, she received an offer and joined the bank.

Bonnie's journey through SBSI has been marked by steady advancement. Initially hired to cover the walk-up/drive-up teller position on Fridays and Saturdays, she continued to work part-time at Shop N’ Save.

When a full-time opportunity arose within the computer department, Bonnie seized it. After several years, she transitioned into the accounting department as one of two members, working alongside Mattie Hilton. Together, they managed various accounts and handled wire transfer services for customers.

Following Mattie’s retirement, Bonnie assumed the role of Senior Accountant and, over time, advanced to Accounting Manager and then Assistant Vice President/Accounting Manager. In December 2016, she transitioned to the Operations Center and took on the role of AVP/Wire Operations Manager, a position she holds to this day.

What distinguishes SBSI as an employer for Bonnie is the familial atmosphere and the support provided both professionally and personally.

Outside of work, Bonnie indulges in various crafts including knitting, crocheting and counted cross-stitch. She also enjoys spending time with her family and is an avid animal lover, with a particular fondness for cats and dogs.
