In August 2026, we are proud to celebrate John Boucher's 5-year work anniversary with SBSI!
John joined the Bank following a significant career change. After spending 32 years working for a semiconductor manufacturer, he decided he wanted his next chapter — what he calls his "second career" — to be something completely different.
Encouraged by his son, Chad, who works at SBSI, John applied several times before finding his place in the Deposit Support Department. That opportunity marked the beginning of his career in retail banking.
Over the past five years, John has embraced the learning curve that comes with entering a new industry. From working with two different core systems to learning from knowledgeable teammates across the organization, he has continuously expanded his banking knowledge while becoming a trusted member of his department.
Even today, he enjoys learning new aspects of the business and values the opportunities SBSI provides for growth.
When asked what he enjoys most about working at SBSI, John's answer was simple: the people. He appreciates the coworkers he collaborates with each day and enjoys the engaging, meaningful work that keeps him motivated and interested.
Outside of work, John stays active by jogging and participating in 5K and 10K races, thanks in part to encouragement from his son Chad, an avid marathon runner. During the summer months, he enjoys gardening, taking walks with his wife and dog, and traveling with Chad whenever the opportunity arises.
