Stay Informed on the Dangers of Skimming

Skimming is a scam that criminals use to steal your credit or debit card information. They do this by capturing data from the magnetic strip on your card while you're making a transaction. To best protect yourself, it’s important to stay informed and take the appropriate preventative measures.

While skimming devices can be disguised well, be on the lookout for loose or misaligned components, unusual cameras, suspicious card readers that look odd or tampered with and fake keypads.

Preventing skimming scams is crucial. By staying vigilant, covering your PIN, using a trusted location, monitoring your bank statements and enabling transaction notifications, you can significantly reduce your risk of becoming a victim.
