This race gives young people an opportunity to participate in the fast growing world of multi-sport racing. The run, bike, run format of a duathlon is fun and approachable, a great race for non-swimmers and triathletes alike.

A bike only event for our youngest athletes makes the event even more accessible. All young athletes will finish the race with a smile on their face, a medal around their neck, and a boost of self-confidence and pride.

Join the Saco Community at the Athletic Complex at Foss Road at 12PM for a colorful celebration!

This vibrant event features a 1 mile color run, food trucks, a DJ and a market including vendors and resources that celebrate love, diversity and inclusion.

River Jam returns to Biddeford from 12PM - 10PM with an annual celebration of music and community. Groove to the beats while you enjoy fun family activities and more, all alongside the gorgeous Saco River at Mechanics Park in Downtown Biddeford!

Start the day with live dance, theater, & music performances, community booths, and fun activities for all ages! The afternoon and evening continue with an incredible line-up of musicians from Maine and beyond performing on the Main Stage, several food trucks, and local brews/wines in the Beer & Wine Garden.

August 21, 2026

This free, family-friendly event from 5 - 10PM features food trucks, live music (including the Maine Pops Concert Band), a kids' bounce zone, and ends with a fireworks show.

Time: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Fireworks start around 9:15 PM)

September 12, 2026

Join the pack on Main Street from 12 - 4PM at Saco's favorite event for dog lovers and their four-legged friends!

This year, the pups are taking over downtown Saco! Paws Downtown is a tail-wagging celebration of our furry friends (and the humans who love them). This day of four-legged fun features a pet friendly businesses and vendors, take your pup for a walk along the river walk, doggy parade and costume contest, trick demonstrations, & more!

In collaboration with Biddeford's world-class breweries, Oktoberfest features live music, food trucks, games, family-friendly activities, and of course beer! The inaugural event in 2023 had 1,200 attendees.

This festive gathering on Lincoln Street is a day filled with festbiers, seasonal flavors, and a lively community atmosphere.

The annual Pumpkin Harvest Festival returns on October 24th from 11AM - 3PM, transforming C.K. Burns School into a bustling celebration of all things fall.

This event features cherished traditions and a day full of autumn activities for all ages.

Highlights include the enchanting pumpkin patch, filled with creatively decorated pumpkins, and the lively pie-eating contest, live music, pony rides, carnival area, and over 60 vendors at C.K. Burns School.

This beloved festival celebrates community spirit and the magic of autumn.

4th annual Main Street Market starts at 9AM at the Thornton Academy Linnell Gym, and combines the spirit of community and the joy of local shopping. It’s an opportunity to experience the creativity of local artisans and crafters and get a jump-start on holiday shopping.

This event brings together over 60 talented vendors. From handcrafted jewelry and artisanal home goods to festive decor and and cozy apparel, there’s something for everyone.

December 05, 2026

The Holiday Festival & Parade of lights is a festive Saco tradition, blending festive daytime fun with the dazzling parade in the evening.

During the daytime festival, families can enjoy story time with Santa, live carolers on Main Street, winter craft activities, the Festival of Trees at the Saco Museum, and other holiday activities before the Parade of Lights takes center stage. With glowing floats, lively dancers, and holiday displays, Main Street transforms into a winter wonderland.
