Fraud Awareness and Prevention
Your Partner in Financial Security
Whether you have personal accounts, business accounts or both with Saco & Biddeford Savings, your financial security is our top priority. We want you to know your money is safe, and we want you to feel empowered to take action when you think something is off.
Remember: We will never ask for your account information, passwords or pin over text, email or the phone.
Fraud threats are evolving, and scams can look and feel convincing. The good news: many types of fraud, including identity theft, are preventable with awareness and a few simple steps. If something feels suspicious, trust your gut, then verify.
Protect Yourself: Pause. Verify. Report.
To stop fraud before it happens — or to report it quickly when you suspect it — contact our Customer Care team at 207-284-4591, stop by your local branch, or call the number on the back of your debit card (add the number to your contacts now, in case you need it later).
Pause
Scammers often create urgency to push you into acting fast. A short pause can prevent a loss.
Verify
Fraudsters can impersonate banks, businesses, government agencies and even people you know. If you receive a call, text, email or message that seems urgent or unusual, trust your gut — then verify.
Report
If you think you’ve been targeted or scammed — even if you’re not sure — contact us immediately. Acting quickly can help you reduce losses and protect your accounts.
