There’s nothing quite like late summer in Maine: Crisp coastal breezes, golden sunsets, the changing of the leaves, and the buzz of people coming together to celebrate all things that make this time of year so special.
At Saco and Biddeford Savings, we cherish this time of year and the chance it brings to connect with our neighbors. We’ve curated a list of upcoming events we are looking forward to and hope you will join us in promoting community connection:
Pumpkin Harvest Festival, October 18, 11am – 3pm
To celebrate fall in all its glory, the Pumpkin Harvest Festival in Saco, held at CK Burns School. With over 60 local vendors, a carnival space, pumpkin patch, pie-eating contests and pony rides, there’s something for everyone! Remember to stop by the Saco and Biddeford Savings Booth for popcorn and a smile from your local bankers!
Pillars of Pride, October 18, 6 – 9pm
The Biddeford Education Foundation will host their eighth Pillars of Pride event at the Lincoln Hotel in downtown Biddeford. This year’s event honors two dedicated leaders in the Biddeford School community: Joyce Tarpy and Maureen Grandmaison. There will be a silent auction as well as appetizers and drinks. The funds raised from this event will directly go back into the Biddeford schools and students.
Main Street Market Craft Show, November 23
At the Thornton Academy gym on Main Street in Saco, there will be an indoor Maine Street Market Craft Show. Including over 60 incredible vendors, there will be something there for everyone. If you are shopping for yourself or for those you love, the Main Street Market is an essential event before the Christmas season.
Fifth Annual Old Orchard Beach Art Walk, December 6, 10am – 3pm
Saco Bay Artists are hosting their Fifth Annual OOB Art Walk this holiday season. A map will be provided leading you through 11 venues displaying local artists. Once you walk through all locations and get a few signatures, you will be able to use this map as an entry into a drawing for a gift basket! Embrace artists in your local community by visiting OOB during this wonderful time of year.
Celebration by the Sea, December 6, 3pm – 5:30pm
The holiday tree lighting at Veterans Memorial Park in OOB will be a must-see this year. Many of the trees will be lit up in holiday cheer. There will be two very special guests, Santa and Mrs. Claus, to take pictures and meet with the children.
Merry and Bright Night, December 5, 5:30pm -7:30pm
The Heart of Biddeford will be hosting the Biddeford community at the Merry and Bright Night on Adams Street. There will be holiday activities, live performances, and sweet treats for all! Enjoy the beautiful lit trees while strolling through downtown Biddeford on a joyous winter night.
Holiday Festival and Parade of Lights, December 13, 1pm – 7pm
In downtown Saco, the tradition of the Holiday Festival and Parade of Lights will continue on December 13 with all day activities. There will be crafts related to winter, holiday caroling on Main Street, and the traditional Festival of Trees at the Saco Museum. Families can enjoy a story with Santa during the holiday season. There will be a parade in the evening, showcasing dazzling lights draped over the floats, and dance performances.
