Matt Grenier Celebrating 15 Years at SBSI

Matt Grenier, Senior Facilities Technician, recently celebrated his 15 year work anniversary at Saco & Biddeford Savings!

What brought you to SBSI?

I joined SBSI in 2008 right after finishing college. Due to the tight job market, finding work in my field was challenging for many people, including myself.

Fortunately, through a connection with my best friend, I got the opportunity to apply at the Bank. Landing the job as a teller in OOB marked the beginning of my career.

How have you advanced within SBSI?

Throughout my tenure at SBSI, I have had the chance to work in various capacities across all our locations.
Starting from the teller line, I progressed to customer service and eventually became the Assistant Branch Manager in Scarborough, holding that position for seven years.

Approximately one year ago, a new opportunity and challenge arose to work in Facilities and Security, and so far, it has been highly rewarding.

What makes working at SBSI enjoyable?

The people I have encountered at the bank over the years are what make it truly special. Collaborating with numerous individuals across different locations throughout my career has had a positive impact on my life. Additionally, I have been fortunate to meet numerous customers, each with their own unique stories.

How do you spend your free time?

During the warmer months, I devote a significant amount of time to camping with my family and friends, as well as riding my motorcycle. When winter arrives, skiing and ice fishing become my main hobbies.

Recently, my wife and I welcomed our first beautiful baby girl, Lily, into the world. Currently, all of my time is dedicated to her, and nothing compares to the joy I feel when I come home from work and see her smiling upon hearing my arrival.
