In celebration of Financial Literacy Month, we partnered with Mill Studio Arts to host the Piggy Bank Beauty Contest for school-aged children, which turned out to be a delightful showcase of imagination and creativity.
The event took place in Biddeford at Mill Studio Arts on Friday, April 19th, where the studio was abuzz with the enthusiasm of young participants from 10 AM to noon.
Provided with all necessary supplies by Mill Studio Arts, the children brought their inventive spirits to the table, resulting in a fabulous array of piggy banks. There were three categories in the contest—funniest, prettiest, and most creative—and each category featured designs ranging from glittery embellishments to comedically themed creations that triggered laughter and smiles.
More than just an opportunity for arts and crafts, the contest proved to be a communal gathering that promoted family involvement, encouraged creative expression, and underscored the significance of financial education in a fun environment.
We were thrilled to announce the winners on Friday, May 3rd, awarding Kerrigan, Lydia and Sierra with $100 each towards a Youth Savings Account at SBSI for their winning entries in the prettiest, funniest, and most creative categories. Congratulations to you all!
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all participants and attendees; your engagement made the event truly special. We eagerly anticipate next year's contest.
