SBSI Employees Joins Conservation Efforts at Local Trail

On National Trails Day, several of our SBSI employees headed out to the starting point of Wildwood Trail in Saco to assist in reinforcing a bridge that had been weakened by a fierce storm earlier this year. The edges of the bridge, where it meets the stream, needed serious attention to withstand future weather events.

Accompanied by members of Saco Bay Trails, who maintain the location, volunteers got to work. Armed with wheelbarrows, they hauled both heavy and smaller stones to bolster the side of the bridge. They spread gravel to solidify the pathways and ensure a safe passage for those who cross.

This project was more than just volunteer work; it resonated with us on a personal level. Many of our colleagues live nearby and often seek solace along this trail. It's a place that holds memories and promises new adventures, making our contribution feel even more rewarding.

We're eager to join more Saco bay Trail work parties in the future and to continue supporting these pet-friendly paths.

The sense of accomplishment and camaraderie we experienced was really special - and as we packed up, we couldn't help but feel a deep sense of pride in what we had achieved together.
